Bracondale Medical Centre are very excited to be working alongside Stockport Council with the recruitment of 20 volunteer Practice Champions.

Our Practice Champions are working alongside the surgery to assist with non-medical patient needs and interests. This is a new project to Bracondale and Stockport and is currently being run from 3 Stockport practices and 80+ nationwide.

The aim is the introduce people into the community, promote healthy living and ultimately improve health and well-being.

Our Practice Champions are in the process of setting up a variety of shared interest groups to bring the community together.

These currently include:

  • Walking
  • I.T Assistance
  • Healthy Living
  • Living with Long Term Conditions

We are also in the process of trying to obtain a plot of land locally where members of the community will be able to enjoy horticultural activities including; growing fruit, vegetables and herbs.

If you would be interested in taking part in any of the above groups or have your own suggestions, please see our Practice Champion notice board in the surgery waiting room.

More details will be added to the website once the groups are established.
